Install Spirex Browser

Download the installer and sign in with your admin credentials

Download the latest Spirex Browser installer from your IT administrator or the Spirex portal. Run the .exe and follow the setup wizard it installs in under a minute.

  • 1Run Spirex Browser Setup.exe and accept any Windows SmartScreen prompts.
  • 2Launch Spirex Browser from the Desktop shortcut or Start Menu.
  • 3Enter your organisation email and password on the login screen. Your admin provisions the account in the Spirex console.

Export your bookmarks from Chrome or Edge

Save your existing bookmarks as an HTML file

Both Chrome and Edge export bookmarks as a standard HTML file that Spirex can read. Choose your browser below.

  • 1Open Chrome and click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
  • 2Go to Bookmarks Bookmark manager
  • 3In Bookmark Manager, click the three-dot menu in the top-right and choose Export bookmarks.
  • 4Save the file as bookmarks.html somewhere easy to find, like your Desktop.
  • 1Open Edge and click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
  • 2Go to Favorites Manage favorites
  • 3Click the three-dot icon inside Manage Favorites and select Export favorites.
  • 4Save the file as favorites.html to your Desktop.
Edge favorites export is identical in format to Chrome bookmarks Spirex handles both automatically.

Open Bookmark Manager in Spirex

Right-click the bookmarks bar to open the manager

Spirex has a native Bookmark Manager. Access it by right-clicking anywhere on the bookmarks bar the orange strip that runs below the address bar.

Create a folder & import

Organise bookmarks into named folders, then import your HTML file

Inside Bookmark Manager, create one or more folders to mirror your Chrome folder structure then import the HTML file into each folder.

  • 1Click + New folder in the left panel and type a name (e.g. Work Tools). Press Enter.
  • 2Select the folder you just created so it is highlighted in orange.
  • 3Click Import HTML a file picker opens.
  • 4Navigate to your bookmarks.html file (saved in Step 2) and click Open.
  • 5Spirex reads the file, extracts all links from the matching folder, and populates the selected folder instantly.
💡 You can import the same HTML file into multiple folders useful if you want to mirror your Chrome "Bookmarks bar" into one folder and "Other bookmarks" into another.

Your bookmarks appear in the bar

Click any folder to open a dropdown just like Chrome

After importing, your folders appear immediately in the bookmarks bar. Click a folder name to open a native dropdown with all links inside. Individual bookmarks open the site directly.
